I will only go into the most basic aspects here.
When planets conjunct (☌) the qualities, meanings of the planets blend . For example, Mars=violence + Pluto=death …the blend = assassination.
When two planets oppose (☍) the qualities are ”in conflict” until you resolve them, then they are in ”cooperation”. For example Mercury=comprehension + Saturn = calculation … (opposition) it’s difficult for a person to practice mathematical computation however with practice (Mercury) and study (Saturn) this may be overcome . With the opposition we turn a struggle into cohesive system. Like a see saw, both planetary manifestations work in opposing orientation and they can be made to work together.
The trine (△) indicates an easy flow of energy. Again, Mercury = thinking processes + Saturn = concentration. This person is a ”natural” or ”talented” with regards to mental (Mercury) focus (Saturn).
The square (□) indicates friction or extreme tension …example Mercury = the hands/ arms + Saturn = heavy blows or the results of such (bruises broken bones), thus a broken arm or bruises on the arm can be indicated. A mental delineation, Mercury=thinking + Saturn = math. This person has very difficult time = the square in regards to applying mathematics …
The sextile (✶) is half a trine and also indicates an easy flow of vibration , but not as naturally or as easily as the trine. It represents the ability to build a skill or talent but not without practice or application. Mercury = speaking + Saturn = an impediment in sextile i.e. this person this person may feel some limitation expressing themselves verbally (Mercury) but with a little focus and concentration (Saturn), they can easily overcome and inhibition (Saturn) and speak (Mercury) to whomever.
Widening vocabulary regarding the qualities and attributes of the planets, and a general sense of worldly wisdom or common sense is absolute tantamount to be able to envision how to arrange or blend these keywords into concepts.
I only gave a few examples … Each planet carries a whole lot more than the examples dropped here.
